Met Life Yesterday
Met Life Yesterday
With
rules of a deprived and crooked society, a slow deluded march to death.
An illusion
of self in hope for meaning, trying to live in the space between each breath.
Measuring
life with what we have, fear ruling over every other sense,
Draining
the known for being happy, getting approvals at peace’s expense.
Breathing
defined as living, consumed by everything that is meaningless,
Hope
is a mirage of what will never be tomorrow, weighing yesterday that was
lifeless.
Oblivious
to any form of truth, resentful to anything that’s humane,
Filling
the holes with meaningless material, carving a life filled with disdain.
Noise
of voices all around and yet everyone is afraid to speak,
And
one who dares to utter a word is defined by all as a freak.
Believes
gnawing at roots of the free, generations hammering at its head.
To
give in to what is acceptable, give in or be a broken thread.
Met
life yesterday, willed it to come with me.
It
said they broke by bones brother, come here and sob with me.
